Chasing Souls

Smoke bellowed from their mouths and disguised confidence seeped from their skin. Their minds were sharp, but their hearts were dull. His heart was dull, for he knew he could only love when he was lonely. He placed his happiness in others and was addicted to the chase. Yet somehow, he seemed so free. It was intriguing to me how he could pull of such a thing. He had such an ease to the way he lived­­– recklessly. I so desperately craved for it. But at least I could bare to be alone. For deep down in his heart, I think he knew it was dull. I think he just refused to realize the fact he would only ever be able to chase.
